Out Behind the Barn Many are the lessons I learned long ago Most of them the hard way-those the best I know Well, I remember Judy from just down the road I was not really her doctor by my daddy I was told This he made clear to me down on the old farm Daddy made me cry that day out behind the barn One day I sneaked around and stole my uncles smokes To say that I got sick that day is almost just a joke Another day I went shopping in a store without money The policeman told my daddy, who didn't think that it was funny This he made clear to me down on the old farm Daddy made me cry that day out behind the barn He taught me about Jesus and why He had to die How He paid the sin price for sinners, even you and I Well, many years have passed since daddy went to his eternal home Some day soon I'll join him there-never more to roam Because daddy made things clear to me down on the old farm My daddy still makes me cry out behind the barn.
