Born To Travel

Over the years I have driven several million miles as a professional driver and as a tourist. Our family has had the privilege of traveling extensively in Canada,  Mexico and the United States including Alaska.  Even as a trucker I am continually thrilled to see the awesome scenery and meet some really wonderful people around this great North American Continent. 

Some Close Encounters, Of The Scary Kind

A lot of the wildlife (no, not the party crowd!) has sent me scurrying off to my Peterson Field Guides to find out what I just saw. I've had close encounters of the SCARY kind with moose and brown bear that left me with my knees knocking and out of breath.  I would not trade any of these experiences for anything this world has to offer!  I can reflect back on trips that at the time I felt were near disasters and smile at the fond memories.

Several of these trips would not have been possible were it not for some great tools at my disposal. I carry a varied assortment of mechanic tools with me where ever I go. To me they are essential! 

I wouldn't begin to guess at how many times I've pulled a broken part off,  hitch-hiked or walked to the closest town,  got the part and went back to replace it,  saving sometimes hundreds of dollars in the process!  Even more times I've had adequate tools, electrical tape, duct tape (ain't that stuff great!) or some other "band-aid" type of supply to fix it on the spot. Remember our motto,  "Always be prepared!"
